Auditions to be held on Wednesday October 16th @ 3:30 in the Vocals classroom (0302)

Information*  Auditions for Rodgers and Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music" will be held on Wednesday October 16th in the vocals room (0302)

If interested, please put your FULL name, email address. and vocal range (tenor, soprano, alto, etc.) on the sign up sheet outside of the drama office (2304). If you are unsure of your vocal range, please write “unsure”.

NOTE: A full list of characters with descriptions and the vocal range for those characters has been posted on the Drama board. Please use this to help inform which role you would like to audition for.

Audition Preparation: On the audition day, please come prepared with a song of your choosing to be sung with out music backing. Please be aware that you WILL BE CUT OFF by Mr. Wright and M r. Carter. This is in NO WAY a comment on your skill. This simply means that we have heard enough and, as our time is limited, don’t require more. If more people wish to audition we will add another audition time as needed.

Vocal Auditions club: If you are nervous to sing in your audition, we invite you to come to the vocal room on Tuesdays at lunch, where Mr. Carter will help you become more comfortable with your singing voice and what you can actually do with it.

It is recommended that you prepare a song from “The Sound of Music”, however it is not necessary. We want you to perform a song YOU are confident with.

You will also be asked to read script sides for various characters to determine your range as an actor. You will be given the “script sides” prior to entering the audition. You will have time to look over the sides and practice.

FINALLY: Do NOT “selfcast” or “dreamcast” prior to auditions!! This is to avoid disappointment if you are not cast in a desired role or in the production at all. Casting of roles will be made based on appropriateness' of the actor for the given role based on auditions.

Break a Leg!!
